LAPD's mission is to empower individuals and communities to prevent and respond to mass attacks. With a team of experienced professionals from law enforcement and mental health, we deliver a FREE high-quality training program that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each audience.
The response to an active shooter situation will be determined by the particular circumstances. As with any crisis or unusual occurrence, preparation and planning can help mitigate the situation. Our training will encourage and assist in having a proper plan in place, protocols to alert others of danger, options to consider as it relates to Run, Hide, Fight, 911 caller tips, police response and commands as well as educate on the post-incident reunification process.
As research has shown, many of these mass shooters exhibit pre-attack warning behaviors that, if recognized, could disrupt the plan to do harm. Our training will highlight mass shooters' pre-attack warning behaviors, missed opportunities for intervention and best practices moving forward. We will provide reporting platforms, tiplines and resources on how to report suspicious activity to police as we continue to raise awareness of the "See Something, Say Something," national campaign.
Our training program is led by highly skilled instructors with extensive experience and expertise in law enforcement, mental health/response and assessments who are committed to enhance public safety and implement best practices to prevent targeted violence in our communities.
